There are four levels of award available. Please check the links below, and the accompanying eligibility criteria, to determine which award to apply for.

Level 1 Award

This award will appeal to allied PH healthcare professionals, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, pharmacists and psychologists to support research initiated by them.

Duration: 1-2 years

Funding amount: US$50,000 in total.

Up to two awards will be granted in the 2019 cycle.

Level 2 Award

This award will appeal to fellows and will support research to be completed within the initial 2 years of their first faculty position.

Duration: 2 years

Funding amount: US$100,000 in total

Up to two awards will be granted in the 2019 cycle.

Level 3 Award

This award will appeal to early-mid career (<7 years since terminal training degree) pulmonary hypertension professionals to support research initiated by them.

Duration: 2 years

Funding amount: US$150,000 in total

Up to two awards will be granted in the 2019 cycle.

Level 4 Award

This award will appeal to investigators who wish to perform a clinical trial in a single center or restricted multicenter (<5) sites in the USA.

Duration: 2 years

Funding amount: US$200,000 in total

Eligibility criteria

Level 1 Award

Requests for these grants must come from allied PH healthcare professionals. These may include nurses and nurse practitioners, physical therapists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, psychologists, genetic counselors, social workers, laboratory personnel, clinical dieticians, dentists and dental hygienists, among others.

Level 2 Award

MD or PhD qualified individuals currently in their fellowship training, affiliated with a facility that carries out research in cardiopulmonary / cardiothoracic medicine, or provides care to patients with these disorders, may make a request for these awards. Such facilities may include medical universities, hospitals, treatment centers, and laboratories.

Level 3 Award

MD or PhD qualified individuals who have earned their terminal training degree in the last 7 years, affiliated with a facility that carries out research in cardiopulmonary / cardiothoracic medicine, or provides care to patients with these disorders may make a request for these awards. Such facilities may include medical universities, hospitals, treatment centers, and laboratories.

Level 4 Award

MD or PhD-qualified individuals affiliated with a facility that carries out research in cardiopulmonary / cardiothoracic medicine, or provides care to patients with these disorders, may make a request for these awards. Such facilities may include medical universities, hospitals, treatment centers, and laboratories.
